The CV1948 is the post 1941 UK government specification for the 6L6.We believe that when RCA introduced the 6L6 around 1935 it was the World's first true aligned-grid beam tetrode to reach Quantity Production. The metal envelope version was the original followed later by the glass enveloped G and GT versions.A pair working in class AB2 push pull would deliver 47 Watts at 2% distortion. A lot of power in the 1940s and 1950s.The /J identifies the maker as STC, Crewkerne, pre Jan 1946.
The reverse is plain painted steel.
