The CV5023 is a modified 6D4 triode thyratron. It was designed for normal relay duty or as a wideband noise source.
The data-sheet makes it clear that as a CV valve the use was pulse generation.
The enclosing anode. The control element has heat radiating fins at both top and bottom of the supports.
The side view. The heater connections can be seen at the base.
Here the cathode tube can be seen.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7G base pins is 46 mm tall.
