This exhibit is a VT Type A class II. Only a few VT's had the spherical envelope and it is not known why.

The Moorhead used the Wallace Egg Company, who made egg crates, to design this shock absorbing carton.

The balloon envelope is  mm in diameter and, excluding the UV base pins, is  mm tall.
