The EB34 is a pair of signal diodes in a single envelope. Each section is internally screened. In this example the once present red metallic paint has flaked off and the inner structures can be seen.
The diode sections are small and the leads are comparatively long when using pinch construction.
Here we have another example with all the paint removed. This clearly shows the distance from the base connections to the diode elements.
The metal plate screen extends above and below the mica supports.
A closer view of the actual construction.
This second example is an RCA 6H6 or VT-90 and the box dates this to 1944.
One box side.
The other printed box side. The other two sides were left blank. The valve fits into a slide-in sleeve.
The balloon envelope is 30 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 63 mm tall.
