The Cossor P2 is a bright emitter valve and first went into production in 1922. Cossor launched the valve as for HF use. That is for the HF of the Medium Wave rather than for audio.
The early production valves had a metal shell base as our exhibit. Later production moved over to Bakelite moulded bases.
The box is original from the early 1920s.
The distinctive red paint on the top separates the P2 from the P1.
Base pins are of the simple split-pin type.
The gold sticker does not contain any text.
The control grid pin is indicated by the G on the nickel base shell.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter, and excluding the B4 base pins, is 77 mm tall.
