The 6X5G full wave rectifier for use in equipment with an HT requirement of up to 70 mA. The valve is also rated for pulse operation. In the latter case the maximum peak inverse volts is 1.25 kV.
Rob Coleman comments that the main advantage of the 6X5G rectifier is the heater/cathode insulation that allows the heater to be run from the same winding as the rest of the valves, whereas most HT rectifiers require a separate winding.

The two identical anodes offset left and right over the common cathode.
The classic envelope is 38 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 88 mm tall.
