The 2C42 planar triode is what the Americans call a lighthouse valve, because the electrodes are stacked vertically. It is a UHF disc seal triode operating up to 1,300 MHz, and visually identical to the 2C46.Operation as a pulse modulated oscillator was the original design purpose.The planar envelope is 32 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins is 51 mm tall.References: Data-sheet. |
