The 1R5 miniature heptode frequency changer was designed for dry battery operation. The exhibit is in the original box that is marked JRC1R5 US Army May 1945. UK production of B7G based valves started a couple of years later than in the USA.The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 46 mm tall.References: Data-sheet, 1040 & 1043.
