The design of this VHF transmitting double beam tetrode follows the American pattern of two separate valves within the envelope.
Originally the QQV04-20 was known as the QV04-20 and Mullard changed the nomenclature in December 1948.
The later developments from Mullard were of the newer type with a common cathode. See the QQV03-20.
The wide glass tube envelope is 48 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 94 mm tall.
References: 1951 Data-sheet, 4065 & 1040. Type QQV04-20 was first introduced in 1948. See also 1948 adverts.
