The B729 is a pair of separate amplifier triodes within the same envelope. The two sections are separated by a metal screen.
The B729 was developed for domestic television receivers and the heater has controlled conditions such that it can be used for parallel operation on a constant 6.3 Volt supply or within a 300 mA series heater chain.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 47 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet, Data & 1040. Type B729 was first introduced in 1958. See also 1958 adverts.
