The CV3930 is a special quality miniature triode for use as an oscillator at UHf frequencies up to 500 MHz.
The valve also carries the commercial Type designation of 5718 showing equivalence.
The tiny electrode assembly within the small glass envelope. The heater and cathode are on the left connected to copper extensions of the lead-out wires. The open centre reveals the grid winding as it passes over the oxide coated cathode.
The thin glass tube envelope is 10 mm in diameter, and excluding the B8D/F base wires is 34 mm tall.
