The PCF801 is a television mixer oscillator. Triode pentode combinations worked better at high frequencies than hexode mixers.
The PCF801 is a frame-grid triode and frame-grid variable-μ pentode.
The triode section with stitched anode. The support rods are braced with straps top and bottom to withstand the pull of the tightly wound grid wire.
The pentode.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins, is 43 mm tall.
