The cv540 (commercially the 12SC7 that can be seen on the base) is a metal enveloped double triode, these valves have been used in guitar amplifiers and the ECC83 is used for upgrades.
The K/RC identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the RC identifies the maker as Ferranti, Chadderton, Oldham.
We also have the 6SC7 that differs only in heater rating.
The reverse is plain.
The thin metal tube envelope is 25 mm in diameter, and excluding the IO base pins is 51 mm tall.
