During WWII two civilian radio receivers were made, one battery and the other mains. The valves they contained were generic and marked with BVA numbers. The BVA276 was the Mullard ECH35 and is a typical triode hexode frequency changer or mixer for broadcast applications. 
The external metallic paint is connected by the wire to the base pins.The classic envelope is 39 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 101 mm tall.References: Data-sheet, 1040 & 1043. Type BVA276 was first introduced in 1940. See also 1940 adverts. |
