This VT-1 was made for the US Navy where it was known as the 203B. The construction of this valve is slightly different to 203B and the pins lack the gold plating.

The anode plates are corrugated and the main support is shaped to provide rigidity. With this extra strength the fragile glass rod support was no longer required.
