The 1H5GT (DAC32) is a dry battery diode triode for receiver use. The 1LH4 is the same valve but on a B8B base.
In a TRF receiver the diode would provide AM signal demodulation and the high μ triode would be the first audio voltage amplifier.
Construction uses an intermediate mica disc to separate the two vertically mounted sections. The triode is at the top with the screening box containing the diode anode closer to the pinch. The single strand filament passes through both sections. The diode anode has a tab fixed to the main support.
The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm in diameter, and excluding the IO base pins is 69 mm tall.
