The 12AT7 (ECC81) was designed for RF use and is of medium impedance.
It was used as a frequency changer in five station television sets. In this application the oscillator triode would be the first to cease working.
The 12AT7 also makes an excellent phase splitter in modern audio applications.
The original Type designation appears on this side of the glass and it was made in Canada - probably by RVC.
The twin triode sections. The hole in the end of the anode wall reveals the control grid and their copper supports.
The remains of the Pinnacle overprint and the Type designation ECC81.
The thin glass tube envelope is 21 mm in diameter and excluding B9A base pins the length is 47 mm.
