The VR67 is a single medium μ triode. The valve is a 6J5G marked with the pre CV register RAF valve code of VR67 for Valve Receiving number 67.
This is a classic triode design with the popular audio double triode the 6SN7 being a pair of 6J5s in a single envelope.
Made in USA and the old UK RAF stores code of 110E/68.
The heater is twisted to reduce the electric field around the heater and consequently to minimise the transfer of mains hum to the signal.
The top mica with pins pressing into the shoulder of the envelope. The control grid has heat sink fins attached to the top of the supports.
The classic envelope is 38 mm in maximum diameter and excluding the IO base pins the valve is 85 mm long.
