This exhibit, the GZ32, is a medium power full wave rectifier for general purpose use. It probably would have been used in audio power amplifiers or modest radio transmitters.
The maximum reservoir capacitor was 60 µF and the minimum series resistance to limit current was 150 Ω.
The twin rectifier sections. The anode cross section is +.
Clearly an indirectly heated rectifier but the cathode is connected to one side of the heater.
The lower mica showing the round cathode tubes, heaters and the tape connecting the cathodes to the pinch.
The top mica. The stitched sides of each anode are wider than the cross flanges.
The classic envelope is 43 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 99 mm tall.
